Asakusa & Kuramae · Ramen
Niigata-style ramen in Asakusa, opened June 2025. Hi-STANDARD bassist Nanba's tribute to the legendary closed shop Rakukyu—rebuilt by fans in Niigata, now arrived in Tokyo. Golden broth, ultra-thin noodles, exceptional chashu.
The bassist and vocalist from Hi-STANDARD runs this place—they've completely nailed the taste of a legendary shop from Niigata. It's light but seriously good. They've got a solid craft beer selection too.

What makes it special
The original Rakukyu, Nanba’s self-described “soul food,” closed in 2021. Devoted fans including Nanba himself launched Namifuku in Niigata in 2022 to preserve the tradition. This Asakusa location (June 2025) occupies a 60-year-old former sushi restaurant. The broth is built from careful layering of niboshi and seasonal Niigata ingredients into a gentle, complex golden soup. Ultra-fine noodles with significant chew carry the flavor; the chashu, made with a secret tare, is distinctly excellent. Adjacent “Namifuku Chaya” sells original merch and Niigata-sourced ice coffee and ice cream (customizable with cookies and choice of two salt types: crisp or mellow).
How to visit
Walk from Asakusa Station (Tsukuba Express line) ~5 min. Lunch-only service, lunch orders cut-off ~2:30pm. Seating tickets distributed during peak hours. Cash and card accepted. Check the website or Instagram for current hours before visiting.
